A government shutdown that says that 98% of scientists are considered "non-essential" doesn't mean their work doesn't matter, and that the national budget should be trimmed of these people (which some people online have proposed).
That means that only 2% of people are necessary to keep animals alive during a furlough.
Grow up everyone, and stop oversimplifying things.

Also, just to throw this out there (and you are more than welcome to disagree), if you try to argue with me about research that has been done in an area, and you say something like, "well I never graduated high school, are you saying that makes my opinion less worthwhile than yours?"
.......the answer is yes.
When we are talking about FREAKING NEUROTOXINS I guarantee you I understand them better if you never graduated high school and are 18 years old.
So the answer is yes.
